Appointment is mandatory One applicant = one appointment. The person who simultaneously requests the perfecting of the passport and the identity card will make a single appointment, with the specification of this aspect at the stage of the online appointment.

The passport is issued upon request in the following situations:
- at the first documentation
- changing, modifying, rectifying or completing personal data
- expiration of the validity period
- declaration of loss, theft or damage
- second passport request
- acquiring or reacquiring citizenship of the Republic of Moldova
- detection of non-conformities, forgeries in documents, identity theft and false identity
- valid identity card with the accompanying form (if the document is missing but valid, the person will sign an additional declaration received at the embassy).
- valid, expired and/or damaged passport (in the case of declaring the loss or theft of the passport, the holder submits a declaration to this effect).
- identity cards or valid passports of the parents (if a passport is requested for a child under 18).
- birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate (issued in the name of the applicant or the minor applicant’s parent), death certificate of the spouse, certificate of change of name and/or first name, notice of cancellation, amending and/or completing the civil status document. In case of divorce of the child’s parents, the divorce certificate issued in the name of the parent presenting with the child will be presented.
- when submitting the application for the minor whose parents are divorcing, the final and irrevocable court decision regarding the divorce will be presented. If, following the divorce, the court has established the residence of the minor with one of the parents, in order to issue the minor’s passport, the statement of this parent will be submitted, which will be drawn up in front of the consular official or which is notarized, from which the express agreement for the issuance of the passport results . Presentation of the decision is not mandatory if the agreement of both parents regarding the issuance of the passport is presented, which will be drawn up at the consulate or authenticated by a notary. If, following the divorce, the court has not established the residence of the minor with either of the parents, the declaration of consent of both parents will be presented, which will be drawn up at the consulate or which is notarized, from which the express consent for the issuance of the passport will result. If the parent has been deprived of parental rights by a final and irrevocable decision of the court, his consent is not necessary. If the marriage has not been concluded, the parent who submits the application for the issuance of the passport in the name of the minor, simultaneously submits a written declaration on his own responsibility in this regard before the consular officer.

- If the identity card is invalid or the applicant is over 16 years old and has not obtained the identity card, the application for the issuance of the passport is accepted only in the case of the simultaneous submission of the application for the issuance of the identity card, provided that the deadline for ordering the issuance of the identity card not to exceed the term of the passport issuance service order. The passport is issued to a person under the age of 7 for a period of 4 years, to a person aged from 7 to 16 years – for a period of 7 years, and to a person over the age of 16 – for a period of 10 years.
- For the citizen whose passport fingerprints cannot be taken temporarily, they are issued for a period of 12 months.
- The parent’s passport does not include the child’s data.
- The citizen of the Republic of Moldova can hold two valid passports at the same time, provided that the information about the holder in them will be identical.
- The photographing of the person takes place in the embassy. No other photos are required.
- The applicant’s file is sent to the Public Services Agency, which examines the application and completes the passport.
