Transcription of civil status documents

Service duration: 15 minutes
The appointment is mandatory: one applicant = one appointment. The person who simultaneously requests the transcription of several civil status documents will register a single appointment

The resolution period is approximately 60 days from the date of submission of the request
  • preparation of the file with the issuance of the Moldovan birth certificate for the child born in the Czech Republic- free
  • preparation of the file with the issuance of the Moldovan marriage certificate registered in the Czech Republic – 15 euros.
The citizen of the Republic of Moldova who has registered documents of civil status on the territory of the Czech Republic (children born, marriage, divorce) is obliged to declare the facts of civil status and register them accordingly in the register of civil status of the Republic of Moldova.
Based on the request of the declarant and the Czech civil status certificate, duly translated and legalized, the authority of the Republic of Moldova will register the civil status document issuing a Moldovan certificate to this effect.
For the transcription of the civil status document, the applicant will present:
  • identity card with accompanying card or valid Moldovan passport in original and photocopy (in the case of the new type card, the accompanying card is not required / if a parent or spouse is a foreign citizen, a copy of the identity card will be presented of it).
  • civil status documents, as the case may be (parents’ Moldovan birth certificates, marriage certificates).
  • The civil status document transcription file is sent for examination to the Public Services Agency and after approval the Embassy draws up the document and issues the transcribed Moldovan certificate.
  • The estimated resolution period is 45 days from the date of submission of the application for the transcription and issuance of the certificate and cannot be expedited. Once initiated, the process must be completed, for which reason it is recommended that the person who plans to leave the Czech Republic within this period, transcribe the document in the Republic of Moldova at the territorial civil status service.
  • As a rule, the transcription procedure in the Republic of Moldova takes place within a short period of 1-3 days and can also be done by a representative empowered by a notarized power of attorney. The power of attorney can be authenticated at the Embassy. For additional information, we recommend checking the notarial documents section.
  • The person requesting the transcription of the birth certificate of the child born in the Czech Republic, with the subsequent completion of the passport for the child, is recommended to make a prior appointment for the passport at least 60 days from the date of submission of the request for transcription.
  • Applications for the transcription of the marriage certificate of the parent registered in the Czech Republic and the transcription of the birth certificate of the child born in the Czech Republic can be submitted at the same time.
